Payscale is a Seattle based company that basically compiles salary information so that companies and individuals can get a better understanding of the job market and how much they should be paying/be paid.
They have a new blog they call “Salary Stories” in which they post interviews of individuals with interesting jobs. The posts include job titles, job description, locations, education, experience, and salary information along with a couple answers to questions like, “What do you love most about your job?” and “Why/how did you choose this line of work?”
The latest interview happens to be directly related to my field of work, Search Engine Optimization. The post, “SEO Addict: Search Engine Marketing Consultant” profiles Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz. Rand is one of the best, brightest, and most-recognizeable figures in the industry. I have been lucky enough to chat with him and his team at various industry events and exchange emails every once in awhile.
