About cK

Welcome to cK’s personal playground

Yo! Glad to see you made it...

I'll be using this site as my own personal blog. Basically, I'll be posting whatever the hell I feel like posting. I guess it will be more like an online repository for my thoughts. A virtual notebook/idea book/scratch pad/sticky note, per se...

I won't be writing for a particular audience and there will be no rhyme or reason to my posts. If you don't like it, then screw you - you tasteless, unimaginitive, dull, conforming zero... (Ooh...)

If you have anything to say, please leave comments and let me know what's up!

You can read more about me on my About cK page...

Garrett Wolfe Is A Chicago Bear!

Chicago Bears | Garrett Wolfe

I’ve been meaning to write about this when I found out about it on Saturday, but time just wasn’t on my side. It still isn’t… but, I can’t wait any longer!

I watched the first round of the NFL Draft on Saturday, before I went out for dinner and drinks with a friend. After dinner, I went to pick up a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard from DQ on my way home to surprise Paula, when my cell phone alerted me of a text message from my boy, Bill:

“Bears just drafted garrett wolfe in the 3rd round”

My Interview on Garrett Wolfe

A few weeks ago, Hank Brockett - a reporter for The MidWeek News - contacted me a few weeks ago to a couple questions on Garrett Wolfe and why I created the fan-site.

I thought that maybe a few sentences would get published, but much to my surprise, everything I said made it to the press!

Thanks to the coverage, I was actually contacted by an old high school friend who I haven’t talked to in about 10 years. Apparently, he was going through his morning routine, when he opened up the paper and saw my picture.

Sorry Huskies, You Guys Really Sucked-Ass

So, Paula and I went down to San Diego last night to watch our Huskies play in the Poinsettia Bowl.

They got clobbered by the TCU Horned Frogs, 37 - 7.

I really don’t want to talk about it. ESPN.com has a through recap, if your interested.

I will say that I was ready for a great performance from Nicholson, but he didn’t produce like he did at the end of the season last year when Horvath got injured. I thought Nicholson should have gotten more playing time this season, but we missed Horvath more than I thought we would.

The NIU Huskies Are Coming to SoCal!

I was checking my email over a bowl of Cheerios this morning and clicked on a link that my boy, Kartik, sent over…

Going back to Cali:

Huskie football players can stop waiting and hoping, and plug Led Zeppelin’s “Going to California” into their Ipods.

For the second time in three years, NIU will head to California for a post-season bowl game, this time against Texas Christian in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl on Dec. 19.

Garrett Wolfe is Back!

As I’m sitting here watching the Michigan vs Ohio game, I can’t help to think about Garrett Wolfe’s stellar performances against both teams.

I must admit that I felt let down by the Huskies over the last few weeks. The loss against Toledo was especially heartbreaking…

I stopped following Wolfe and the Huskies… I didn’t even realize that they played yesterday…

That is, until I saw Wolfe run in three touchdowns on SportCenter’s top 10!

Wolfe ended up rushing for 203 yards and 3 touchdowns!

Even better, our Northern Illinois Huskies upset the Central Michigan Chippewas for their first conference loss!

I Don’t Wanna Say That Joe Novak Blew It

But he did!

What the hell?

The last game that I was able to see on TV out here was the Miami (OH) game a month ago. (I did sit in the stands and watch the Huskies trounce Temple on Homecoming, but Temple doesn’t really count.) Since then, I listened to the games over the internet on streaming radio…

So, I finally get to see the Huskies on TV, but other than Britt Davis, none of our Huskies really stood out… they didn’t suck too bad, but they didn’t play very well, either.
