Rolling Stone to archive every issue on DVD:
Rolling Stone magazine will release its entire printed history on DVD in the fall, coinciding with the celebration of its 40th anniversary.
Archive software firm Bondi Digital Publishing is scanning over 115,000 pages from more than 1,000 issues, using a proprietary platform previously used for the New Yorker and currently being deployed for Playboy. Bondi will publish the DVD under an exclusive licensing arrangement with Wenner Media, the closely held parent of Rolling Stone.
What I’ve Done - Linkin Park
Linkin Park’s new single, What I’ve Done, is finally out! You can go listen to it on my MySpace page.
I wrote about their upcoming album all the way back in September… Titled Minutes to Midnight, it’s finally due to be released on May 15th.
I’m a Linkin Park fanatic, so I fell in love with the song the first time I heard it. I think it is a lot different and a lot more raw and devoid of layers and layers of tracks that you may be used to from LP’s past releases, but Chester’s supernatural vocals are unmistakable.
Korn with Amy Lee - Unplugged
I heard this for the first time last night on KROQ during my drive home from work. It’s Korn’s performance of “Freak on a Leash” featuring Amy Lee from Evanescence, for MTV Unplugged.
It was taped on December 9, 2006 and is due to hit the air March 2, 2007. The video was just released yesterday.
Two of my favorite rock heavy-hitters mashed-up for a live acoustic performance. This is 100% discoshit:
Apparently, Korn also did a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” for the show, which I am eagerly awaiting to hear… holla back if you have a clip!
I Got an Electronic Drum Kit for my B-day!
YAY!!!
So, yesterday was my birthday… and I was all about keeping a low profile and treating it as any other day, but Paula wouldn’t have it. When I got home from work, we changed and got ready to head out for dinner with our friends, Kevin and Kristina…
As I went to get in Paula’s car, I noticed a big box in the backseat and two envelopes. Upon closer inspection I realized it was the Ion iED01 Electronic Drum Kit that I’ve had my eye on for the past year!
Linkin Park’s Next Album
Dude. I can’t wait for Linkin Park’s next album to come out. It was originally slated to be released around this time, but has been pushed back to be released at the beginning of 2007.
I can’t get sick of Linkin Park. I think I like them most because I get the feeling that they think the same way I do when it comes to putting together music.
When it comes down to artistry, I would not even think about putting LP, or any member of LP, in the same boat as Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, or the dude from the White Stripes. Those guys are just true artists. I really can’t come up with a good way to explain it. They just have “it.”
