About cK

Welcome to cK’s personal playground

Yo! Glad to see you made it...

I'll be using this site as my own personal blog. Basically, I'll be posting whatever the hell I feel like posting. I guess it will be more like an online repository for my thoughts. A virtual notebook/idea book/scratch pad/sticky note, per se...

I won't be writing for a particular audience and there will be no rhyme or reason to my posts. If you don't like it, then screw you - you tasteless, unimaginitive, dull, conforming zero... (Ooh...)

If you have anything to say, please leave comments and let me know what's up!

You can read more about me on my About cK page...

Zoobs’ Short But Sweet Visit

So Zoobs, one of my best friends from college, came out from St. Louis to visit me in the OC for a little business trip. He was out here from Friday morning to Monday afternoon. It was a good time.

The purpose of his trip was to get started on developing a website for his brick contracting business, A to Z Masonry. Now, I wouldn’t call myself a website developer or designer, but I have self-taught myself a few things and have a few simple sites under my belt. Zoobs didn’t need anything fancy and my expertise in marketing the site is the bread and butter of the whole operation, so we got to work.

I Got the Sauce, Yo

So, the doorbell rings and I get up to see who it is.

It’s a chick with a card hanging from a lanyard around her neck and some squirt bottles hanging from her little tool belt thingy. She’s obviously soliciting. Great.

Our door has a little fan shaped window thingy at the top, so she saw me walk to the door. Being polite, I opened it a crack so the dogs wouldn’t get out.

She says, “Hello.”

I say, “Hi.”

“Are you the king of the castle?”

“Sure.”

“Are you the boss with all the sauce?”

Yeah… It’s My Birthday…

Happy BirthdayIt was just another day when I woke up this morning until Paula exclaimed, “happy birthday!”

It seems like she’s more excited about it than I am… :P

Yeah, it’s just another day for me…

I normally take the day off of work for my birthday, but this is just my second week at my new company (more of that to come later…), so I thought I’d rough it out.

I usually take the day off, not because I think it’s special that it’s the anniversary of my birth, but because I don’t want the attention… it’s kind of embarrassing for me. Luckily, I don’t think anyone at work knows it’s my birthday today…

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

My company sponsors a NASCAR racing team, so I got free tickets to the Ameriquest 300 last Saturday.  So, I brought Paula, as well as our friends, Audrey and Aaron.  Paula and I have never been to a NASCAR event before…

Like many others, we didn’t see how it could be fun to watch a bunch cars go around in circles.  It turned out to be more fun than we could’ve ever imagined!

I posted a photoblog of our NASCAR day at cKandPaula.com if you wanna check it out!

Lates!

John Pinette at the Brea Improv

Last night, we went out to BJ’s in Brea for dinner with some friends and then we all headed over to the Brea Improv to catch John Pinnette in action.

It was actually my first time at a stand-up comedy club. I’ve always wanted to go to one, but just never have. Though, I have been to Second City in Chicago, which is more of an improv show than a stand-up act.

Anyway, John Pinette was hilarious! So were the other two comics that went before him… Unfortunately, I cannot remember their names.
