My company sponsors a NASCAR racing team, so I got free tickets to the Ameriquest 300 last Saturday. So, I brought Paula, as well as our friends, Audrey and Aaron. Paula and I have never been to a NASCAR event before…
Like many others, we didn’t see how it could be fun to watch a bunch cars go around in circles. It turned out to be more fun than we could’ve ever imagined!

I’ve played bocce on two different occasions over the last week, which is more than I’ve played over the past 3 years!
I love bocce and I like to think that I am pretty good. It didn’t take me long to get back into the swing of things.
Apparently, bocce isn’t as big out here on the West Coast as it is in the Midwest. Back in college, we used to play all the time. I guess you could say that we were (and still are) pretty big into the yard games - bocce, bags, washers, etc…
Yesterday, my department went out to the Del Mar Race Track for the horse races.
It was my first time ever at the tracks, so I really didn’t know what it was going to be like… It was awesome! We drank, chilled, talked, and bet on horses…
I won $30 not even knowing what I was doing!

Last week, I was at the Search Engine Strategies Conference in San Jose. Yeah… total geek thing.
Anyway, it was a great time and I got wasted at the Googleplex…

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of watching the Dodgers game from a VIP suite at Dodgers Stadium thanks to the folks at Yahoo.
The Dodgers were humiliated by the Padres, 10-3, and also suffered their eighth straight loss. I sat outside for most of the game even though the announcer said it was 109 degrees out. It wasn’t that bad because we were under the shade and had ice cold beer.
The folks from Yahoo were super-nice and each one of them made sure to introduce themselves and chat at some point. There were also some peeps there from our sister companies, so it was cool to catch up with them, as well.
Last night I watched the Angels trounce the Indians from a party suite at Angel’s Stadium thanks to the fine folks at Ask (formerly Ask Jeeves). I barely watched the game… and when I did, I watched it on the TV outside our suite…
I spent most of the time chatting with fellow industry members from other area companies. We talked some business, but mostly play… Our rep at Ask was talking about how she is having a Bocce court installed in her backyard. How cool is that?
