“Brotherhood” on Showtime

I’m hooked on the show “Brotherhood” on Showtime. I started watching it On Demand last week and now I’m on episode 10 of 11.

It’s based around two brothers… one is a politician and the other is a gangster.

There are two recognizable actors/actresses:

Annabeth Gish is just damn sexy. I fell in love with her on Beautiful Girls - friggin’ excellent movie…

Ethan Embry from Can’t Hardly Wait fame is all growd up and plays a cop…

Fuck Traffic

I left work at 5:15p today.

I didn’t get home until 6:45p.

That’s 1 and a half fucking hours.

I didn’t stop anywhere.

I live 16 miles from work.

That comes out to an average of less than 11 miles-per-hour.

Fuck traffic.

Finding My Old Soccer News Articles

So… a couple weeks ago, Google released a News Archive Search:

News archive search provides an easy way to search and explore historical archives. In addition to helping you search, News archive search can automatically create timelines which show selected results from relevant time periods.

So, I did a search for my name and came across a few articles from my high school soccer days. I clicked on the headlines, but they just took me to newspaper sites that featured a short excerpt from the article and then you had to pay to view the full article.

Homeless Soccer on HBO

I turned on REALsports with Bryant Gumble this morning and one of the stories they covered today was homeless soccer:

Common Goal

In August 2003, REAL SPORTS told the remarkable story of New York City homeless men who gathered to play soccer on a team created by the Grand Central Neighborhood, a social services organization for disadvantaged adults. Week after week, a group of regulars from street corners and shelters met for practice and competition that gave them a renewed sense of purpose. The bonus arrived when they were able to travel to Austria to represent the U.S. in the first-ever Homeless World Cup. Mary Carillo revisits this extraordinary team and gives an update on its players.
